Trajan Denarius NGC VF Roman Empire AD98-117 Strong Portrait/VictoryCarvesShield. Very interesting device work on both sides. The obverse portrait manages to be both strength idealized and individualized enough to be a recognizable person. The reverse has a somewhat unusual image of winged Victory at work carving or painting a shield. The degree of flattening of high points from wear matches the standard for a Very Fine grade. Legends are well rendered and legible. The strike is slightly off-center; the only loss of content from this is some of the beads lining the rim on the reverse.
