Theodosius II was Roman emperor from 402 to 450. His reign was marked by the promulgation of Theodosius law and two great controversies in Christianity: Nestorianism and Eutychianism. Starting with Constantine the Great and throughout the thousand year life of the Eastern Roman Empire later known as the Byzantine Empire, all coins were coins of the Greek Orthodox Church and celebrated the Christian religion.
